About This Tool

Look, I get it—sometimes you just have a mess of text and no idea how to clean it up. Maybe you copied a list from somewhere, pasted it into a doc, and now it’s all out of order. Or maybe you’re trying to organize names, tags, or notes and it’s just… chaotic. That’s where Text Sorter comes in. It’s not fancy. It doesn’t have animations or a slick dashboard. But it does one thing really well: it sorts your text.

I built this because I was tired of manually rearranging lines in Notepad or Excel every time I needed something alphabetized. It’s simple, fast, and doesn’t ask for your email or try to sell you anything. Just paste, sort, copy. Done.

Key Features

  • Alphabetical sorting – A to Z, no fuss. Handles uppercase and lowercase without breaking a sweat.
  • Reverse order – Need Z to A? There’s a button for that.
  • Remove duplicates – Got the same line twice? It’ll clean that up automatically if you want.
  • Case-sensitive option – Sometimes “Apple” and “apple” should be treated differently. Toggle it on or off.
  • Line-by-line processing – Each line is treated as a separate item. Perfect for lists, emails, or keywords.
  • No uploads, no tracking – Everything happens in your browser. Your data never leaves your machine.

FAQ

Can I sort numbers with this?
Yep. It treats numbers as text, so “10” will come before “2” alphabetically. If you need numeric sorting (where 2 comes before 10), this isn’t the tool for that. But for most basic lists, it works fine.

What if my text has commas or special characters?
It handles them just fine. The sorter doesn’t care about punctuation—it just compares the full line as-is. So “Café” will sort correctly, and so will “item_003”.
