Credit Card Validator

Validate credit card numbers using Luhn algorithm

Supported Card Types:
Card Type IIN Range Length Validation
Visa 4 13, 16
Mastercard 51-55 16
American Express 34, 37 15
Discover 6011, 65 16
JCB 35 16
Diners Club 36, 38 14, 16
How Luhn Algorithm Works:

Starting from the rightmost digit, double the value of every second digit.

If doubling results in a two-digit number, add those digits together.

Sum all the digits (including the undoubled ones).

If the total modulo 10 is 0, the number is valid according to the Luhn algorithm.

About This Tool

So, you’ve got a credit card number and you’re not sure if it’s legit. Maybe it’s from a form submission, maybe you’re testing something, or maybe you just want to double-check before typing it into that sketchy site (we’ve all been there). That’s where a credit card validator comes in. It’s not magic, and it won’t tell you the cardholder’s name or balance—but it will tell you if the number follows the basic rules of how credit card numbers are built. This tool runs a few quick checks: length, format, and the Luhn algorithm (yeah, that math thing). It’s not checking against a bank database or anything—just making sure the number *could* be valid. Think of it like spell-check for credit cards. Useful? Absolutely. Foolproof? Not even close. But it’ll catch most typos and fake numbers before they cause trouble.

Key Features

  • Checks card number length—most are 13 to 19 digits, depending on the issuer.
  • Validates using the Luhn algorithm—because math doesn’t lie (most of the time).
  • Identifies the card type—Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.—based on the starting digits.
  • Works instantly—no sign-up, no waiting, just paste and go.
  • Doesn’t store or log your data—your card number disappears the second you leave the page.
  • Free to use—because why charge for something this basic?

FAQ

Can this tool tell me if a card is actually active or has funds?
Nope. It only checks if the number is formatted correctly and passes the Luhn test. It won’t connect to any bank or payment network. For that, you’d need a real payment processor—and permission from the cardholder.

Is it safe to enter my real credit card number here?
Technically, yes—the tool doesn’t save anything. But honestly? Don’t. Use a test number if you’re just experimenting. There are plenty of valid-but-fake numbers online made for testing. Better safe than sorry.
